Hours of Work:

Initially on days (7.30-15.30 Monday to Thursday and 7.30-14.30 Friday)

Homeworking:

This role is not eligible for Hybrid Working.

Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £150M and nearly 1000 staff, with 300 in the UK.

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster where we now have a requirement for an Estate Manager.

Reporting to the Facilities & Security Manager responsible for the management of personnel and service partners in ensuring a legally compliant, safe and secure working environment for all site-based personnel. Focussed on team management to ensure high levels of individual and collective performance in fulfilment of Stakeholder objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the site, its services, infrastructure and buildings are maintained to a standard to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all site-based personnel.
  • Ensuring that the facility meets all applicable corporate as well as legislative regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Management of all aspects of building functions to ensure the functionality of all services, infrastructure & facilities on site.
  • Oversight of building projects and renovations, including but not limited to installations, refurbishments, renovations and new builds.
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and deal with the consequences.
  • Managing both in house and service partner performance against agreed SLAs.
  • Management and performance of both in house and service partner employees in the performance of their duties.
  • Management of Stakeholder and customer relationships and expectations.
  • Developing plans, outlining strategies for improving efficiency and reducing costs in line with strategic business objectives.
  • Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
  • Providing guidance and direction to team in ensuring on site activities align with strategic business objectives.
  • Planning and developing resources to meet commitments aligned with the site and organizational strategy.
  • Training and development of team members to ensure a mutually supportive robust function.
  • Any other duties, which may be reasonably requested, to facilitate the efficient operation of the function.
Experience and Background

Qualification:

Essential Qualifications

  • HNC or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification. A modern apprenticeship would be an advantage but is not essential.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IOSH Certified.
  • Green or Black Belt certification.

Experience:

Essential Experience

  • Previous proven facilities experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working with CAFM systems.
  • Experience of working with both Soft and hard Facilities Management services providers.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques e.g Kaizen, Lean 6 Sigma, RCA.
  • Knowledge of building processes and construction principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance.

Person Specification
