Job description

As Recruitment Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in shaping Lightfoot’s growth by finding and attracting the right people at the right time. This is a true in‑house recruitment role, focused on developing a deep understanding of our teams, roles, and culture, and using that insight to identify and engage high‑quality talent in the market. You’ll work closely with hiring managers as a trusted partner, advising on role design, hiring strategies, and candidate experience.

This role suits someone who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, building strong relationships, and delivering thoughtful, high‑impact hiring rather than high‑volume recruitment.

Key Responsibilities
Partnering with the business
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with hiring managers, developing a deep understanding of team structures, role purpose, capability gaps, and future growth plans
  • Run thorough role kick‑offs, shaping and challenging briefs where needed to ensure roles are well‑defined, realistic, and aligned to business priorities
  • Advise on role design, seniority, salary benchmarking, location flexibility, and hiring timelines, using market insight and data to inform decisions
  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the hiring process, balancing pace, quality, and long‑term fit
End‑to‑end recruitment delivery
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle, from initial briefing and attraction strategy through to sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and handover into onboarding
  • Proactively source candidates through direct search, LinkedIn, professional networks, referrals, and market mapping, with a strong focus on quality and long‑term fit
  • Develop a deep understanding of Lightfoot’s products as well as the SaaS and fleet telematics landscape, to enable more targeted and informed sourcing
  • Map relevant competitor and adjacent markets to identify transferable talent and broaden the available candidate pool
  • Engage with passive candidates in a credible, informed way, demonstrating a clear understanding of the role, team, and industry to build interest and trust early
  • Support and promote internal recruitment and career progression, working with managers and the People team to identify internal talent and development opportunities
  • Manage agency relationships where required, ensuring clear briefs, high‑quality delivery, and cost‑effective use
Market insight, data and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of external talent markets, sharing insight on candidate availability, competitiveness, and emerging trends
  • Ensure a high‑quality, consistent candidate experience at every stage, acting as a positive ambassador for Lightfoot and our culture
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data within the ATS, tracking activity, time‑to‑hire, and sourcing effectiveness
  • Use data, feedback, and insight to continuously improve recruitment processes, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes
  • Contribute to employer branding activity, careers site content, and recruitment communications to support attraction and engagement
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience in in‑house recruitment or as a consultant, with a strong relationship‑led, consultative approach
  • Commercially minded, with a genuine interest in understanding how a business operates, how teams deliver value, and how hiring decisions impact performance and growth
  • Curious and thoughtful in understanding roles and teams, with a clear view of what “good” looks like beyond a job description
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, advise on trade-offs, and influence hiring decisions
  • Experience sourcing candidates directly and building pipelines in competitive or evolving markets
  • Sound judgement, with the ability to balance pace, quality, and risk — knowing when to move quickly and when to slow down
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑growing, changeable environment where priorities can shift
  • Experience using ATS systems and recruitment tools to manage workflows, data, and reporting
