A childcare organization in Leicester is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join their catering team. Ideal candidates will have experience in a busy catering environment and a current Food Hygiene certificate. Responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation while ensuring high hygiene standards. The role requires a commitment to safeguarding children and engaging positively with them. This position offers £12.26 per hour for 16 hours per week, with additional benefits including subsidized childcare and referral bonuses.

The key responsibilities of the role include assisting the cook in the management of the nursery kitchens, food policies, organising, preparing, and serving nursery meals in accordance with the nursery menus and individual dietary requirements. You will be a good role model to the children, demonstrating patience and encouragement and take all the necessary steps to safeguard children by following policies and procedures in place.You will be required to work 11.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Thursday. A current Food Hygiene certificate is a requirement for this role however we can provide training for the ideal candidate. Our Kitchen Assistantsensure hygiene andcleanlinesswithin the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance withEnvironmentalHealthrequirementsand legislation.Excellent knowledge of current legislations in Environmental Health and Food Standards Agencywould be highly desirable.
