About the role

About the role: We’re seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of contracts within our sector. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are on track financially, ensure smooth operations, and deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities
  • Build working relationships with supply chain, consultants, and clients where appropriate
  • Procurement of sub-contractors in line with target programme and company policy
  • Contract administration of sub-contracts
  • Timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractors’ applications and issue of payment notifications to sub-contractor
  • Preparation and submission of external valuations in a timely manner to align with the contract requirements
  • Management and accurate forecasting of the external valuations through to the final account agreement with our Clients
  • Measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings, where required
  • Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
  • Civils -Weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments if required
  • Accurate production of internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations in line with the Commercial reporting timetable
  • Ensure good quality & accurate records are maintained
  • Delay identification/notification/ in tandem with project team
  • Effective change management in line with contract
  • Manage and minimise non recoverable costs on projects
  • Price and effectively agree all project variations

Qualifications
  • Relevant HND, Degree in Quantity Surveying, Built environment or equivalent, desirable

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Valid Driving licence
