Reporting to the Quality Improvements & HSE Lead, the QC Inspector will work closely with manufacturing teams to verify first off, in-process and final product acceptance. You will also assist third-party inspectors with customer-required external inspections and the creation of documentation packages.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out visual and dimensional inspection against drawings and test procedures.
- Read internal and third-party drawings.
- Conduct first off, in-process and Factory Acceptance Testing. This will include, but not be limited to, terminations, insulation resistance, temperature operational tests and voltage checks.
- Lead the inspection process for goods inwards and outwards inspection of customer-owned and issued products.
- Identify faults and report deficient work that does not comply with contract specifications.
- Liaise with Production, Engineering, R&D and third-party inspection bodies.
- Create documentation packages to meet both internal and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure all measuring equipment is kept safe, maintained, clean and within calibration.
- Conduct daily surveillance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Ensure all quality procedures have been followed and applied prior to product dispatch.
- Assist with the company’s Corrective Action Report (CAR) process to investigate quality issues.
- Support the Quality Improvements & HSE Lead by working closely with manufacturing teams to collect and analyse customer feedback, identify trends, recurring issues, root causes and areas for improvement.
- Assist with all internal and external audit processes to maintain transparency, compliance and operational integrity for ISO 9001 and ATEX/UKEX/IECEx.

- Experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing or a complex operational environment.
- Previous experience of manufactured product visual and dimensional inspection.
- Previous experience of electrical testing, including multi-meter and insulation resistance.
- Previous experience of internal or external calibration of test equipment.
- Previous experience of working with third-party inspectors or customers.
- Knowledge of documentation control practices, including generation of test records, certificates of conformity and material traceability documents, is preferred but not essential.
- Good communication skills and effective team player.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively across all manufacturing teams.
