About the Role of Property Officer

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Property Officer (Compliance) to join our Property Services team. This role is central to ensuring our care homes and supported housing properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality. You will manage relationships with contractors and suppliers, provide technical support to staff, and help us deliver a safe, well‑maintained, and compliant property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor contractors and suppliers, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery of maintenance and compliance works.
  • Provide technical support, diagnose and triage repairs, and ensure cost‑effective solutions.
  • Oversee compliance programmes across one of three specialist workstreams:
    • Fire Safety, Electrical & Asbestos
    • Water Management & Lifting Equipment
    • Heating Systems & M&E Maintenance
  • Ensure health and safety requirements, asbestos awareness, and regulatory standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory purposes.
  • Collaborate with operational staff, contractors, and internal teams to support safe and effective property management.
About You

  • ✅ Experience in property maintenance with multi‑site responsibilities.
  • ✅ Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and property compliance (gas, fire, electrical, asbestos, water hygiene, lifting equipment).
  • ✅ Proven ability to manage contractors, negotiate, and deliver value‑for‑money services.
  • ✅ Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support geographically dispersed teams.
  • ✅ Strong IT literacy, particularly in Excel, and confidence managing contract administration.
  • Experience with care homes or social housing stock.
  • IOSH or similar H&S qualification.
