Are you passionate about creating impactful learning materials that drive project success?

We are seeking a Project Content Creator to join our client United Utilities to lead the creation of engaging, high-quality training materials that support project success and cater to diverse learning styles.

Overview of the Role

You’ll be responsible for creating engaging and effective learning materials that support project training needs. Using tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate 360, and other learning design platforms, you’ll develop content that aligns with project goals and caters to diverse learning styles.

Collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and the training and development team, you’ll ensure all materials are visually appealing, incorporate active learning when possible and content is aligned with learner needs. Your role focuses on designing e-learning modules, presentation decks, and other digital and blended learning solutions to deliver impactful and consistent training experiences.

You’ll design in line with our eLearning guidance and governance and ensure all content created aligns to the web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) AA.

Key Accountabilities
Content Development
  • Design and develop engaging and interactive learning materials using platforms such as MS PowerPoint and Articulate 360.
  • Create e-learning modules, instructional videos, and other multimedia content to support blended learning approaches.
  • Ensure all content adheres to branding guidelines, instructional design principles, and accessibility standards.
  • Liaise with Training Delivery to ensure courses are created and recorded in SAP.
Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Work closely with SMEs to understand content requirements and translate them into effective learning materials.
  • Maintain strong communication to ensure accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
Quality Assurance
  • Review and refine content to ensure clarity, consistency, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough testing of e-learning modules to identify and resolve technical or usability issues.
  • Collect feedback from trainers and learners to identify areas for improvement in content design.
  • Apply best practices in instructional design to enhance the overall quality of training materials.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Ability to translate SME knowledge and technical documentation into engaging learning content.
  • Proficiency in storyboarding and structuring eLearning modules.
  • Experience in designing e-learning modules, blended learning content, and instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with SCORM and LMS integration.
  • Expertise in authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate).
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (AA web accessibility guidelines) for digital learning.
  • Skilled in facilitating interactive sessions via MS Teams.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on visual design and user experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Duration: Contract role – 6 months
  • Working hours: 4 days per week. Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 2 days from home.
  • Location: United Utilities, Lingley Mere Business Park, Warrington
  • Start Date: 12th January 2026
