We are looking for a Project Manager who has experience managing projects in Brewing, Distilling, Food & Beverage Production or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, including experience in managing the installation of hygienic pipework. Typical candidates we expect to apply would bring a background in either Process, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
The Project Manager will direct, control and complete projects; maintaining high quality, safety, and reliability standards and ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. We have an existing team of welcoming, experienced and supportive Projects team to work within.
The role is best suited to an individual who has a desire to deliver projects across the UK and is comfortable travelling to client sites across the UK and sometimes Europe.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the entire project from the initial handover from the sales team through design, manufacture, delivery and installation to commissioning and customer acceptance.
- After delivering the project you will hand this over the Service team for long term support.
- Deliver regular weekly update reports to the client to show progress of their project.
- Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements for site work.
- Liaise with the client, project team members and senior management to meet both customer and company expectations.
- Understand engineering specifications and technical documentation, including scope of work (incorporating measurable performance requirements).
- Manage and control budgets to ensure adherence to allocated allowances, employing cost management techniques.
- Project procurement and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage engineering contractors and ensure works are planned specific to the site.
- Occasionally undertake Site Management at the appropriate time in the project.
Requirements
- Role-related experience and trained through a time-served apprenticeship, HND or Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience managing projects in industries such as Brewing, Distilling, Food & Beverage Production or Pharmaceuticals, including the installation of pipework to a hygienic standard.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive engineering specifications and technical documentation whilst extracting necessary information from specifications and technical documentation.
- Commercial acumen, planning and budgeting experience.
- Demonstrable experience of Health & Safety legislation.
- Good understanding of Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) regulations.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Lives within a commutable distance from the SSV office in Leeds.
