An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician to join our growing team, supporting with the production of Intraocular Lenses that help improve people’s vision worldwide.
We are looking for an individual who has an impeccable attention to detail & precision, a sense of self-motivation and a strong work ethic.
You will be working in a manufacturing environment at our state-of-the-art HQ in Worthing, West Sussex.
This is a full-time permanent role, worked in 12-hour shifts between 7pm to 7am in 4 on, 4 off rotations.
You will earn £30,767 (annual salary of £24,767 plus £6000 shift allowance).
Lathe: this is where blank acrylic disks are mounted, cut, and profiled on machines, measured for accuracy, cleaned in a wax removal bath, and then sent to the Dimensions department.
Tumble/Dimension: this is where lenses are cleaned, hydrated, and measured for thickness and optical power before moving to cosmetic inspection.
Cosmetic Inspection: this is where lenses are checked under a microscope, defective ones removed, and the rest loaded into injectors, filled with saline, and sealed.
Primary Pack: this is where lenses from Cosmetic Inspection are checked for defects, labelled with batch and serial numbers, sealed into pouches, then sterilised in autoclaves.
Final Pack: this involves placing sealed lens pouches into cartons with required paperwork, performing a final visual check, labelling, and sending them to the warehouse for shipment.
*Please note that due to the nature of this role, you may be required to wear full PPE including a lab suit, mask, and gloves to maintain cleanliness and safety*.
