Qualifications

Production Planner (Maternity Cover) – Salt Separation Services Limited, Rochdale (on-site). Department: Operations. Compensation: £40,000 - £45,000 (FTC, 9 months).

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting the development and maintenance of effective production schedules aligned with customer demand, inventory levels, and operational capacity. Working closely with procurement, warehouse, and cross-functional teams, the Production Planner will help drive on-time delivery and manufacturing efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and developing the production plan to align with demand forecasts, stock levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor production workflows and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely delivery and optimal efficiency.
  • Liaise with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for manufacturing.
  • Track and monitor production progress through the company’s ERP system (Epicor), identifying and reporting any delays or risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience in a production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain role is preferred.
  • Proven track record of improving the delivery of manufactured items or equipment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems (Epicor experience is advantageous).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production scheduling principles is beneficial.
