About the Role

Working Hours

As part of a job share.

Thursday and Friday 06:00 – Finish.

About the role

As a member of the Primary department you will be instrumental in starting the production process. The job will involve preparing turkeys and turkey products for the rest of the factory, through removing offal and feathers, quality checking and grading the whole birds.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Checking and grading bird quality.
  • Lifting, handling, trussing and storing of whole turkeys up to 20kg.
  • Investigating and examining carcasses for signs of disease.
  • Unloading product from the production line into fridges.
  • Removal of feathers, organs and offal from carcasses.
  • Achieving quality standards relating to temperature, grading, wrapping and preparation.
What you'll need to be successful:
  • The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
  • A good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
  • Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
