Job summary

A healthcare production company in Mountain Ash is seeking a Production Operative to assemble and inspect lifesaving medical equipment in a Cleanroom environment. The role requires attention to detail, dexterity, and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Candidates should have a good standard of general education and preferably prior experience in manufacturing. The position involves strict adherence to safety and quality standards to meet manufacturing targets and support distribution to clients including the NHS.

Job description

This is a busy role which will require you to have a keen eye for detail and a good level of dexterity. The Production Operative is responsible for correctly assembling packs of lifesaving medical equipment, and inspecting medical packs in a Cleanroom environment, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role supports the production line to meet daily manufacturing targets and maintain high product quality, ready for distribution to our key customers, including the NHS and various private health organisations.

To ensure that the Company operates in line with all legal requirements including Health & Safety and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and package medical packs according to approved procedures, work instructions, and batch records
• Operate and monitor production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
• Maintain strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Perform in-process quality checks and report any defects or non-conformities
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and ensure compliance with Cleanroom protocols
• Accurately complete production documentation
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately
• You will also assist with general tasks in the Production environment

Education / Experience

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of GMP, or other quality systems is an advantage
• Basic computer skills (e.g. for data entry or documentation)
• Good attention to detail and manual dexterity

Education, Qualifications & Training:

• Good standard of general education

Experience & Personal Qualities:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or Cleanroom environment preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
