Job summary

A production management company in Desborough is seeking a motivated individual to oversee team performance and production targets. The role includes ensuring compliance with client specifications, health and safety regulations, and often acting as a role model for best practice. The successful candidate will manage production output, minimize waste, and participate in training and development initiatives while maintaining high hygiene standards. Flexibility in shift coverage and other duties is required.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate a team to meet production targets.
  • Ensure final product meets client specifications.
  • Maximise production efficiency hourly/daily.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and quality regulations.
  • Ensure paperwork and systems are accurate.
  • Comply with hygienic audits.
  • Adhere to GMP and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in developing a skills matrix.
  • Attend meetings and relevant training.
  • Identify and develop Line Leaders.
  • Train new starters.
  • Act as a role model for best practice.
  • Monitor and minimise waste.
  • Participate in continuous improvement.
  • Conduct RTWs for line workers.
  • Participate in the PDP program.
  • Conduct disciplinary investigations.
  • Serve as a machinery knowledge specialist.
  • Drive personal development.
  • Manage production output and resolve issues.
  • Cover for the Area Manager when needed.
  • Liaise with customers and clients.
  • Cover various shifts as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as necessary.

  • To effectively motivate a team of people to meet production targets.
  • Ensure the final product meets client specifications (SPI).
  • To effectively maximise production efficiency to ensure plan is met on an hourly/daily basis.
  • Effectively use the integrated management systems.
  • To adhere to and promote best practices in accordance with company health, safety, and quality regulations.
  • To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.
  • To ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external.
  • To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
  • Assist in the development of a skills matrix for all production workers.
  • To attend Line leader meetings, and relevant training courses, as and when required.
  • To assist in the identification and development of Line Leaders to promote successful planning.
  • To assist in the training and development of new starters.
  • To act as a role model for best practice.
  • Monitor, control and minimise waste.
  • Play an active part in continuous improvement.
  • To conduct RTWs for line workers.
  • To participate in the company’s PDP program.
  • To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure.
  • To act as a specialist for machinery knowledge.
  • Drive own personal development through training and work-based experience.
  • Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.
  • Cover for the Area Manager in his/her absence.
  • Liaise with customers and clients as and when required.
  • Must be prepared to cover a variety of shifts to represent the management team.
  • To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
