In this position, you will lead the development of wastewater models, manage key project aspects, and work closely with clients to build and expand Arcadis’s project portfolio through strategic client interactions. Collaboration, proactive problem‑solving, and creative thinking are central to our team’s approach.

Our Water team tackles the most technically demanding projects in the UK, working with leading water companies and contractors to deliver innovative solutions. Projects focus on addressing flooding challenges, reducing storm overflow pollution, and improving network resilience, all while ensuring compliance with UK regulatory requirements such as WINEP.

This position is ideal for a motivated and independent professional who enjoys mentoring and nurturing the development of others. The role involves leading client engagement and management, ensuring technical deliverables align with client expectations and fostering opportunities for continued collaboration.

Role accountabilities
  • Deliver a range of wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure modelling projects and manage tasks of various scales.
  • Conduct technical reviews of wastewater models, oversee model build and verification of sewer networks, oversee survey specifications and management, and develop strategic solutions to mitigate flooding and reduce CSO spills.
  • Provide support to designers at concept outline and detailed design stages.
  • Review and enhance technical reports and presentations to uphold high‑quality standards.
  • Resolve technical modelling challenges on projects and contribute to advancing the team’s technical expertise.
  • Ensure project components (reports, drawings, specifications, studies) comply with relevant standards and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, providing clear explanations and ensuring they understand model outputs and processes.
  • Support and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Assist with preparation of bids including narratives, cost estimates, and programmes.
  • Coordinate project elements, managing resource allocation, quality assurance, subcontractor interactions, and client feedback.
  • Work alongside specialists from other engineering and environmental disciplines to ensure project integrity.
  • Liaise with the Project Director or Manager and the client to support project progress.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by actively supporting the professional development of yourself and your team.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling for wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in team and stakeholder coordination and management.
  • Proficient in InfoWorks ICM; HADES knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Competence using relevant GIS software packages.
  • Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
  • Proven experience in model quality assurance procedures.
  • Strong report‑writing skills.
  • Advanced abilities in spreadsheet‑based data analysis.
  • Coding experience desirable.
