Overview

Principal/Senior or Experienced HV Plant Engineer (Substation Design) – Stantec, Warrington, England, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects, supporting/leading FEED design and detailed design for refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and support/lead FEED and detailed design for substations, refurbishment/extensions, and new-build projects; engage with UK T&D clients where applicable.
• Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges, contributing to the UK energy transition.
• Work on projects that may include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, and related systems, as part of a multidisciplinary energy team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer with design and specification production for HV Substation power systems and components; understanding of protection and control (P&C) is preferable.
• Proactive individual with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry; ability to coach and work within the wider energy team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt; candidates from various technical backgrounds may be considered with training and development opportunities.
