Role Description

We are thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Principal Level Chartered Building Surveyor to become part of our well-established L&I Technical Due Diligence and Building Surveying team. The position primarily involves handling transaction‑based assignments within the UK. Your responsibilities will be diverse, focusing on technical advisory services while allowing room for your unique skills and career aspirations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advisory services on commercial surveying and consultancy, particularly in Technical Due Diligence (TDD).
  • Manage and commission assignments effectively, balancing multiple instructions simultaneously.
  • Deliver high‑quality services, collaborating within a larger commission team to secure exceptional outcomes for our clients.
  • Interact directly with clients, demonstrating confidence and professionalism.
  • Ensure effective time management, meeting deadlines and maintaining profitability of each instruction.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leaders to maintain efficient financial control and deliver cost‑effective service.
  • Support the development of junior building surveyors through mentoring and supervision.
Accountabilities
  • Manage risks in service delivery and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Drive organic revenue growth and support the delivery of the business plan for the commercial building surveying offering.
  • Provide quantifiable updates on the progress of each contract to the Sector Director on a regular basis.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree and MRICS qualified, with time served post‑qualification experience (PQE).

    • Provide concise and commercially insightful advice to clients.
    • Support the TDD team in project and assignment delivery for exceptional outcomes.
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, manage expectations, and ensure timely, accurate work outputs.
    • Represent the company professionally, fostering client partnerships.
    • Guide junior team members and work effectively within a team.
  • Personal Qualities: Presentable, articulate, and capable of building and maintaining relationships both within and outside the company.
