Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and organised Practice Support Administrator to join our GP surgery on a full-time basis. The postholder will provide essential administrative support to an established team of administrators, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the practice while delivering a high standard of service to patients and staff.

  • Provide general administrative support to the practice and existing administration team
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner, directing queries appropriately
  • Manage patient correspondence, including letters, forms, and scanning documents into clinical systems
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with practice policies and data protection requirements
  • Support the team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient day-to-day operations
Skills and Experience
Essential:
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in an administrative role preferred
  • Experience working in a GP surgery or healthcare setting desirable but full training will be provided
