A leading veterinary practice in Clitheroe is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to oversee daily operations and promote team development. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with strong emotional intelligence, a focus on performance management, and a commitment to high standards of care. The role offers flexible working hours, a competitive salary of up to £34,000, and generous benefits including 6.6 weeks of annual leave and a CPD allowance.
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced people-focused Practice Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a confident leader who thrives on supporting, developing, and empowering teams, while also setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement across the practice.
As Practice Manager, you will be the central point of leadership and accountability for the practice, ensuring both people and operations perform effectively and sustainably.
You will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the practice.While key team members manage elements of these areas day to day, you will monitor outcomes, review performance data, and ensure standards are consistently met, stepping in where support, guidance, or corrective action is needed.
A core part of this role is leading performance in a supportive and constructive way by setting clear expectations and goals for individuals and teams, monitoring performance through agreed KPIs, feedback, and operational data, and holding regular check-ins and performance conversations.
You will identify training needs and support development plans, recognise and celebrate strong performance and positive behaviours, and address underperformance early through coaching, support, and structured action plans
You will balance compassion with accountability, ensuring staff feel supported while understanding their responsibilities and contribution to the wider practice.
Working closely with the Director of Practice and the IVC Evidensia Area Support team, you will contribute to performance reviews, business planning, and improvement initiatives, using insight and data to inform decision-making.
Located in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, our practice benefits from stunning countryside, charming villages, and a strong sense of community. With the Forest of Bowland and Pendle Hill nearby, the area is perfect for those who enjoy the outdoors, while still offering excellent transport links to Manchester, Preston, and surrounding areas.
Our team includes five highly skilled vets and a dedicated support team, all united by a genuine passion for animal welfare. We provide a comprehensive range of services, supported by modern facilities and technology, enabling us to deliver high-quality, personalised care to every pet and client.
We are seeking a confident and emotionally intelligent people leader who can positively influence performance and culture, bringing proven experience in managing and developing teams, confidence in monitoring performance and addressing challenges constructively, strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use data and feedback to drive continuous improvements. You will demonstrate a clear commitment to high standards of care, service, and teamwork, and hold a full UK driving licence to support internal meetings and travel between sites
This role is 30 hours per week across five days, Monday to Friday. Start and finish times are flexible, supporting a healthy work–life balance.
