Job description
What you’ll be responsible for
  • Resolve Customer related issues with regards to pollution incidents, taking ownership and resolving to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Work with operational colleagues to identify pollution incidents requiring self-reporting and ensure timely reporting to NRW.
  • Investigate all Polfaxes received from the NRW and draw up suitable responses, actions & timescales.
  • Drive a positive pollution culture within your team, with a particular focus around pollution awareness and evidence gathering on incidents.
  • Liaise with Operational colleagues WWA and Capital delivery teams to ensure AGA risks are identified and fully understood.
  • Maintain a quality management system and achieve a high standard of internal and external audit compliance.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and Procedures.
  • Assist the Catchment team with external stakeholders to include active management of regulatory relationships e.g. NRW representatives and the Involvement and participation in various community groups when appropriate.
  • Representing the company during incidents with outside agencies such as the emergency services, EHO, Local government etc.
  • Provision of technical support to service providers and associated field staff.
  • Assess /negotiate pollution categorisation incidents with the NRW & Confirm whether pollution incidents are linked to Dwr Cymru assets.
  • Produce 10-day reports on all confirmed pollution incidents with a clear focus around root‑cause analysis and repeat incident prevention, tracking subsequent actions through to completion.
  • Capital Maintenance – Identification of investment requirements to improve service and reduce costs supporting the overall DCWW Asset Strategy.
  • Monitor and review telemetry alarms and dashboards to pro‑actively identify pollution risks. Carry out detailed investigations and make recommendations that reduce alarm activity and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Participation in a standby rota is required for the role.

About You
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Full and valid driving licence
  • Experience and knowledge of wastewater treatment and pumping operations
  • Computer Literate, with experience of Window applications and SAP
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business is required for this role
  • Committed and hard working
  • Able to assess risk and adopt a safe working practice to undertake task

  • The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota (1 in 5)
