Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station built in the UK in over 20 years. HPC’s two EPR reactors will generate 3.26 GW of secure, low-carbon electricity for 60 years, enough to power around 6 million homes. The project will create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

The Piping Engineer will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Work packs to support the MEH Alliance programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultimately accountable for delivering Discipline Specific Construction Work Packs and recording in AS9 the work information used to prepare installation (RFI, FCR, etc.).
  • Contribute to the scheduling of works for the discipline.
  • Define the boundary of the scope of works.
  • Liaise with necessary SMEs and client counterparts.
  • Ensure documents are compliant with the latest works information and other MEH documentation. Request clarification or propose changes when required.
  • Keep documents up-to-date and review periodically where required.
Education, Experience and Skills
  • Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training OR experience installing Mechanical and Piping systems.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (BPSS or higher).
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • Proven track record in a highly regulated sector, preferably nuclear.
  • Experience working on major construction projects.
  • Experience delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level.
  • Experience in Navisworks model; proficient in Excel.
