Job Title: Pharmacist (Outpatients) - Bank Shifts

Department: Pharmacy

Location: 164-178 Cromwell Hospital, Cromwell Road, London SW5 0TU

Salary: Competitive

Working pattern: Bank Shifts (Part-time hours); variable shifts between 08:30 and 20:00, including weekends as required.

Outpatient Service Hours: The Outpatient Pharmacy service is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 8:00pm, and Saturdays from 8:30am to 2:30pm.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist with excellent organisational and communication skills to provide a first-class pharmacy service and work as a Responsible Pharmacist within our Outpatient Pharmacy for bank shifts.

The role will include providing a comprehensive, patient-focused and responsive Outpatient Pharmacy service ensuring patients receive their medication in a timely, professional and efficient manner and that patients receive all the necessary information about their medication.

You will be skilled in communicating with all levels of clinical and healthcare staff in promoting the safe use of medicines.

What You’ll Do

  • Abide by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations
  • Ensure that the Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy service is patient focused, responsive and appropriate and that the professional image of the department is always upheld
  • Work in the Outpatient pharmacy, undertaking responsibilities required of a Responsible Pharmacist including ensuring that medicines are dispensed in a legal, efficient and accurate way and that appropriate clinical and other checks have been carried out
  • Ensure patients are given appropriate counselling and information regarding their medicines
  • Provide professional leadership in the pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy practice is within the boundaries described within the latest version of the Medicines, Ethics and Practice issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Ensuring individual patient needs are met and appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues as they arise
