Permitting Apprentice

We're looking for a Permitting Apprentice to join our Transportation Team based in Wymondham, working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.

Location: Wymondham, Norfolk

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £20,800

Start Date: September 2026

How does an apprenticeship work?

As a Permitting Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You'll work closely with the Transportation team to support in the overall design, build and maintain infrastructure for the highways, rail, aviation and ports sectors, with a common goal of connecting people.

Your day to day will include:

  • Support the planning and coordination of highway works by assisting with permits, notices and statutory approvals required under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
  • Work closely with planners, supervisors and the client to ensure works are programmed safely, legally and with minimal disruption to the public
  • Preparing and submitting permit applications, updating Street Manager records, tracking conditions and timescales
  • Liaising with stakeholders to coordinate traffic management and road space
  • Develop an understanding of legislation, compliance, and how effective planning reduces delays, cost and impact on road users
