Part-Qualified ACA Audit Trainee (Nonprofit sector)

Join Moore Kingston Smith as a Part‑Qualified ACA Audit Trainee in the nonprofit sector. This role is based in London, United Kingdom.

Compensation: £30,000 – £42,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct audit fieldwork on behalf of a wide variety of nonprofit clients, with support from the wider audit team.
  • Draft recommendations for improvements to clients’ financial systems and controls.
  • Attend client meetings with the wider team.
  • Assist in planning audits, including reviewing prior year information and preparing lead schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements in line with relevant standards and legal requirements.
  • Draft corporation tax computations and support tax‑related audit procedures.
  • Support the preparation of audit close‑out meeting materials and discussion points.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including technical and tax departments.
  • Help manage client expectations and meet deadlines throughout the audit process.
  • Maintain knowledge of all relevant ISA requirements and MKS internal policies in producing audit files.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of double entry accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Work with other trainees to deliver assignments and assist them with their personal development.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, having begun or completed professional level papers.
  • Have achieved a 2:1 or above from a degree in any discipline. Alternatively, progress to the ACA qualification via an alternative route such as completing AAT Level 4.
  • Have obtained at least 112 UCAS points from three A‑Levels, or equivalent qualifications.
  • At least 1 year of audit experience and experience of working with non‑profit clients is mandatory.
  • Technically competent.
  • Experience of Pro‑audit, CCH Accounts Production, Xero accounting, QuickBooks and Alphatax, Office 365 would be desirable.
  • Excellence in communication, adaptability, and a passion for building relationships and personal development.
