Job description

CNC Recruitment are seeking multiple Packing Operatives to join our client team in the Chard area - a global food production manufacturer. The role involves cutting, wrapping and boxing cheeses, and adhering to safety and hygiene regulations.

Location: Chard area

Job type: Temp - Perm

Working hours:

  • 6am - 4pm
  • 6am - 6pm
  • 7.30am – 5.30pm
  • 6pm – 6am

Salary (regular): £12.70 per hour

Saturday rate: £15.88 per hour

Sunday rate: £19.05 per hour

Night shift rate: £15.88 per hour

Overtime (over 40 hrs): £25.40 per hour during peak weeks

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor production/packing machinery and equipment used for cheese making, cutting, and packaging.
  • Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients for cheese production according to specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, always ensuring safe working practices. Report any hazards or safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of production processes, including any issues encountered during production.
  • Work effectively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Ability to be a supportive and flexible team member.
  • Be diligent in following instructions and able to work at a fast pace without compromising quality or safety.
  • Understand the importance of food hygiene and how to achieve the required standards.
  • Ability to read, write and speak good English, including numerical information.
  • Understand and apply safe working practices.
  • Understand the relationship between the way products are stored, and its quality for the consumer.
  • Previous dairy/food industry experience is desirable, but training will be given.
