Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Tutoring students one-on-one in various locations such as homes and community centers.
  • Working with students aged 4 to 24 years facing special education challenges.
  • Completing reports on student progress weekly.

Full Job Description

JDS Tuition Services is currently looking for Tutors for students with SEN, SEMH, and/or Behavioural Challenges in the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough area. Previous experience as an outreach tutor is not necessary, but you must have experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, and/or Behavioural Challenges on a one-to-one basis.

JDS Tuition Services offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community by helping students reach their academic and therapeutic goals.

The Role:
  • From 10 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only, between 08:30-15:30
  • Tutoring within the student’s home, local libraries, community centres, and safe spaces
  • Working with students awaiting school placement, students who have been excluded, and students with ASD or SEMH
  • Students aged between 4 and 24 years
The Tutor:
  • Ideally hold QTS or equivalent; applications from unqualified Teachers and Teacher’s Assistants with strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, and/or Science are welcome
  • Primary, secondary, or SEND trained applicants are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to engage with students who may not be interested in education or schooling
  • Patience and understanding towards students
  • Complete weekly reports on student progress
