AEM Limited has been Europe's leading independent overhaul and repair facility for more than 60 years. Conducting business from three sites in the United Kingdom, AEM offers specialist services for in excess of 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment. In 2007 AEM Limited was acquired by AMETEK Inc, a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, as a unit within AMETEK MRO’s Aerospace and Defense Division, a recognized global provider of third‑party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day team management of the Inspection sections.
  • Plan and schedule workload in line with the site production schedule.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of strong team morale and team working.
  • Maintain and ensure implementation of all standard operating practices and procedures.
  • Train, motivate and performance manage staff; complete performance reviews, identify training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Manage first level discipline and grievance issues for team members.
  • Maintain the function of plant and equipment to include machine maintenanceComply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and monitor stock levels of machine shop consumables.
  • Co‑ordinate the efficient use and organisation of resources and equipment to meet the production schedule.
  • Plan for and support the implementation of new product development initiatives.
  • Ensure strict compliance and implementation of all safety standards.
  • Ensure component work is undertaken in accordance with procedures.
  • Liaise with the customer support team
Experience & Competencies
  • Experience within the Engineering Industry
  • Team leadership experience within a production workshop environment
  • Computer literate
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Customer focused and able to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
  • Able to manage and develop a team in a demanding, customer focused working environment.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills; capable of communicating accurate and concise information at all levels.
  • Understanding and implementation of lean process principles and their applications
  • Results orientated; able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
