A rural veterinary practice in Scotland seeks a dedicated vet for emergency care. The role offers a salary up to £31,000 alongside a relocation allowance and accommodation. Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with a rota of one week on, three weeks off, and expand your skills in a supportive environment. The position is ideal for veterinarians looking to support farmers while living in beautiful Moray.
At Seafield Vets, we are proud to serve the rural farming community of Moray. We work closely with pedigree beef and sheep farmers, supporting them at the times they need us most. As part of our Farm24 team, you’ll provide seamless and sustainable 24-hour cover for our clients and their businesses.
This is a fantastic opportunity to focus on farm and equine emergencies while enjoying an enviable work-life balance. Our model allows daytime vets to concentrate on routine and preventative work, while our dedicated Out of Hours vets deliver vital emergency care during evenings and weekends.
This role offers significant exposure to farm and equine emergencies, with surgical obstetrics featuring strongly, making it an excellent opportunity for a surgically minded vet. You will need to be confident in handling night-time emergencies and working independently, while also building strong and lasting relationships with our local farmers and practice teams. Emergencies can be attended from the comfort of your own home if you live locally, or from our provided accommodation during your working week.
The caseload is varied, with busy spring months bringing plenty of obstetric challenges, balanced by quieter periods in the summer that allow for valuable downtime. Based in Keith, the central hub of the geographical area we cover, you will play an integral role in our emergency response team, supporting farms and equine clients across Moray.
We believe excellent veterinary care should never come at the expense of your wellbeing. That’s why our Out of Hours rota is built around balance:
Located in the beautiful northeast of Scotland, Keith is ideally placed to access both the Moray coastline and the Cairngorms National Park. With stunning landscapes, rich farming heritage, and welcoming communities, it’s the perfect base for your next veterinary adventure. From whisky trails to wildlife watching, there’s plenty to enjoy in your downtime.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -
