About The Role

The OGC Assistant – Conflicts is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel team. This role will be responsible for preparing conflict check reports, entering and maintaining data in the conflicts database, and supporting other activities related to the Conflicts team’s responsibilities, while assisting with special projects when requested. The role is based in our Manchester office and may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and finalising conflict check reports using the firm’s conflicts database, Intapp Open, for distribution to lawyers, analysts, and other staff.
  • Communicating with lawyers and staff regarding conflict check results and any missing information from the Intapp request form, validating the requirements for the conflicts check with the lawyer or secretary requesting the report.
  • Updating data in the conflicts databases as necessary; conducting corporate research using internal and external information resources to confirm the accuracy of the information.
  • Communicating and coordinating updates in the database with the Accounting Department or other departments as deemed necessary.
  • Providing coverage of department functions during work, after hours, and weekends as needed.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow consistent procedures and display an attention to detail in all work activities.
  • Possess well‑developed and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm.
  • Display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer‑service focus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services firm, preferably.
