Overview

Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor – Hybrid

Location: North West England, North East England and Yorkshire

Salary: £37,800 - £39,500

Role: Occupational Therapist Functional Assessor at Maximus. You’ll use your clinical expertise to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life. The role involves working on complex cases including physical and mental health conditions and chronic pain disorders. A tailored training programme is provided to help you thrive, starting with 6 weeks of training before assessing customers, with ongoing support and mentorship.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life
  • Produce reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine a person’s eligibility for benefits
  • Develop clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision
Requirements
  • Valid HCPC registration number
  • At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience gained within or outside of the NHS
  • You must have the right to work in the UK – sponsorships are not available
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
