Overview

We are expanding our team and are looking to recruit an Occupational/ Industrial Hygienist based from our Halesowen office, West Midlands and also our Wakefield office in West Yorkshire. The role supports the SHE team across a nationwide, established company with 30 years of trading experience.

Salary is negotiable between £35,000.00 and £50,000.00. The position is flexible in location: based at one of the office locations in Halesowen or Wakefield, or home based when not on site visits.

Responsibilities
  • Design and undertake monitoring programmes across a wide range of industries to determine worker exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Offer consultancy to clients on how to improve workplace environments, following monitoring programmes.
  • Undertake occupational noise assessments.
  • Deal with client enquiries and provide quotations related to those enquiries.
  • Undertake COSHH assessments.
  • Produce clear, well-written reports relating to monitoring programmes undertaken, with recommendations and actions to ensure safe working environments for employees.
  • Carry out LEV assessments.
  • Undertake Hand, Arm, Vibration risk assessments.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers as required.
Person Specification / Qualifications
  • Hold relevant BOHS certificates (W501, W503, W507).
  • Experience of working in a similar role.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to liaise with clients to produce quotes for projects.
  • Excellent Microsoft 365 and Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including production of written reports.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to be able to work away from home if required, or to respond to flexible working hours to suit client needs.
  • Must hold a full Driving Licence.
