Job description
Overview

NZC Consultant / Architect Assistant / Architect role at Tetra Tech. Reporting to the Studio NZC Lead and NZC Associate Director - Architecture, the role involves helping develop and deliver NZC advice and low energy / carbon solutions in architectural and multi-disciplinary projects of varying type, size and complexity. Project work is primarily within the public sector, including Defence and FCDO, complemented by residential and mixed-use opportunities. The successful candidate will be involved in developing new clients and opportunities and winning tenders.

Your Role

Working as part of our established NZC team, you will have a mandate to develop NZC design, modelling and reporting methodologies to complement our existing methods and working practices. You will be an essential part of our multi-disciplinary team on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects, providing the expertise and knowledge to facilitate the delivery of climate resistant, low energy buildings. You will run Net Zero Workshops, and model and report on Whole Life, Embodied and Operational Carbon using tools such as LCA One Click Software and PassivHaus PHPP. You will also support winning new opportunities primarily in the public sector, collaborating with Studio staff and other disciplines.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • AR B registered Architect with knowledge and experience in the design and assessment of a wide range of buildings from inception to completion.
  • Proven track record of delivering low energy buildings and/or retrofit projects is desirable. Related qualifications/certification (Passivhaus, AECB) are a plus.
  • Ability to work at a high level with drawing, modelling and interpersonal skills to engage, influence and collaborate with clients, colleagues and stakeholders on a broad range of projects.
  • Experience in working across disciplines to solve complex problems for clients.
  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills; able to research, write and illustrate print-ready reports, prepare fee and project bids, and participate in interviews.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience in technical detailing with a focus on thermal bridging and air tightness.
  • Proficient in REVIT. Experience with One Click LCA and PassivHaus PHPP is desirable but not essential.
