Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the team in the Urology department. The successful candidate will lead the urology cancer teams in service redesign and transformation of our cancer pathways. You will be joining an established team of affable, dynamic consultants, junior doctors and nurses who strive to provide the highest level of care in the friendly atmosphere of the urology department. The post holder will be working autonomously as an Nurse Consultant (Senior ACP), under direct or indirect supervision of senior consultant colleagues, at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high-quality care making critical clinical decisions based on advanced clinical skills assessment working effectively across all four pillars of advanced clinical practice as set out by Health Education England (2017). The post holder will provide clinical leadership and support within the nursing teams in service development in order to improve the patient experience and achieve national cancer targets.

Day to day functions will include but is not limited to:

  • Cancer Pathway redesign and transformation
  • Clinical oversight and strategic leadership of Nurse Specialists

Qualifications
  • Registered first level nurse
  • Master’s Degree (MSc/MA) in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Evidence of teaching, assessment, and supervision skills
  • Advanced life support
  • Willingness to work towards Doctoral Degree (PhD) or equivalent
  • Non Medical Prescribing qualification at Level 7
  • Advanced life support instructor
Knowledge
  • Extensive post masters clinical experience
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge within Urology and Cancer pathways
  • Experience of conference
  • Presentation and publication
  • Evidence of participation in audit and research within Urology and Cancer pathways
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary team working
  • Evidence of implementing and managing change
  • In depth knowledge of specialty pathologies, investigations, interpretation of investigations and management
  • Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the South Tees trust values

Experience
  • Significant experience in the field of Urology at an advanced level
