An educational support organization in Wigan is seeking dedicated tutors to assist students with complex needs in engaging with education. The role involves devising personalized lesson plans based on each student's interests and fostering positive relationships to enhance their confidence. Experience with SEMH/SEND students is beneficial, alongside essential traits like resilience and empathy. This position offers variable hours, with opportunities for additional referrals within the tutoring service.
Here at the Specialist SEND Group, we’re supporting multiple students across the Wigan area with their engagement with education and core academic skills. Whether it’s students on the verge of exclusion, anxious school non-attenders or those with complex needs, we have students that meet each tutor’s specialism.
Utilising a bespoke curriculum, our team of tutors create fun and engaging lesson plans around the child and their interests. We prioritise building positive relationships and lifting confidence amongst our cohort, ultimately guiding them back into education.
Experience working with SEMH/SEND students will come as an advantage to applicants, but resilience, passion and empathy are a must.
We currently have a number of learners in Wigan aged KS3-4 awaiting specialist provision, and we’re lucky enough to be part of their journey towards empowerment.
Students have variable hours, but candidates looking for more have the option to be assigned to additional referrals via our Specialist SEND Tutoring service.
