Sanctuary provide in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. Hindle House - Banbury

£38,887 – £40,934 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Chargehand to join our Voids team, based in Banbury. Working with a team of Operatives and as a working charge hand you will be responsible for providing repairs on void properties. The role will include a company van and power tools and training will be provided as and when required.

The role of Multi-Trade Chargehand will include:

  • Assisting with the daily management of a team and overseeing repairs and refurbishment of properties, ensuring they are carried out to a high standard
  • Inspecting works completed to ensure these represent value for money e.g. efficient use of materials
  • Ensuring Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed on site, maintaining compliance
  • Ordering materials, and liaising with suppliers
  • Ensuring works are completed to KPI targets and financial recovery for completed void works
  • Responding to emergencies and assisting with complaints

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or currently undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
  • Significant social housing experience
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Basic skills in use of Microsoft office, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
