A local authority in Matlock is seeking two part-time Move More Coordinators to implement the Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy. The role involves delivering inclusive sports activities to various community groups, promoting engagement, especially among inactive individuals and those with disabilities. Candidates must possess a Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate and exhibit strong communication and leadership skills. These temporary positions will be active both in the community and at the council's Sports Development section.

Derbyshire Dales District Council are recruiting two new Move More Coordinators to join our team and deliver our new Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy which is currently in co-production. The two roles are part‑time and will deliver a variety of physical activities across the Derbyshire Dales. This position will include weekend and evening delivery when required.

Salary £25,989 to £27,254 per annum (Grade 5: SCP 6 ‑ 9), pro‑rata hours. Contract: Temporary until 31st March 2027, subject to funding.
Contract 1: Starts immediately to 31st March 2027.
Contract 2: Starts 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027.
Responsibilities: The Move More Coordinators will deliver sports and activities to all ages and abilities. Target groups include the inactive, people with long‑term conditions or disabilities, women and girls, youth diversionary, events and festivals, and sport‑specific programmes such as Tennis and Pickleball.
Skills: We’re looking for great communication skills, lots of energy and a proactive leadership style that will positively enhance people’s experience of sport and physical activity. We’re looking for self‑motivated and dedicated individuals, passionate about sport and physical activity with the ability to engage people across all ages. We welcome applicants who thrive on new challenges and the opportunity to make change, while demonstrating empathy and understanding of challenges and barriers to participation.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate and be capable of leading sessions independently.
Additional Qualifications: Candidates should have knowledge and experience of creating and delivering engaging activity sessions and working collaboratively with partners. They should be bold and innovative, with excellent organisational, communication and partnership working skills.
Location: This position is based in the Sports Development section of the Community Development department in the District Council Offices, Matlock, but the majority of the work will be out in the community.
