A leading healthcare provider in Doncaster is looking for a Mortuary Support Officer for a fixed term of 12 months due to maternity cover. Applications are invited from suitable candidates to join our team as a Mortuary Support Officer/Mortuary assistant within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology partnership for a fixed term period of 12 months. The successful applicant will be based at the Mortuary at Doncaster Royal Infirmary or Bassetlaw Hospital.
The successful candidates must be educated to GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths Grade C/4 or above, have a Level 3 qualification e.g. NVQ, 2 A-Levels, Apprenticeship or equivalent working experience in mortuary or funeral directors. They must have excellent written and verbal communication and be able to work under their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Experience of working in a mortuary setting, handling the deceased and having knowledge of regulatory frameworks is preferred. They will be committed to undertake all on the job training.
This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.
Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager. All existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis.
