Overview

Mechanical Workshop Team Lead – Van Arendonk Makelaardij

Role

Line manage the staff of the Vehicle Workshop and the Environmental Test Centre Workshop at QinetiQ’s Shoeburyness site. Support Environmental Test Centre capability delivery, Range capability delivery and site maintenance and fabrication needs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of facilities and engineering workshop techniques.
  • Challenge poor behaviours and make corrective changes within the team and across other teams.
  • Provide advice, assurance and best practice into programmes containing a large element of mechanical engineering capability.
  • Deliver, support and provide technical leadership.
  • Manage risk and ensure all tests are carried out in the safest way possible.
  • Understand the broad and diverse technical domains that the engineering team supports and the implications for capability development and sustainment.
Qualifications
  • A Mechanical Engineering based degree or similar.
  • Understanding of POWER, LOLER and COSHH regulations.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience working in an engineering maintenance environment with a technical leadership background.
  • Leadership and capability development of teams to meet specific objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement and leadership (both within and external to QinetiQ) to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
Employment

37 hours per week, 4–5 days a week onsite at Shoeburyness.
