Amentum is looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team on a temporary, fully on‑site role paid weekly.

Job Overview

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and machinery in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components and systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to resolve technical issues.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a mechanical fitting role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
