This is an exciting opportunity to join Mller Yogurts and Desserts in a new upcoming Apprentice role as a Manufacturing Apprentice within our Manufacturing Academy. We are growing fast and we need future Technical Operators to grow with us!

We focus on continuous learning to develop not only our business but our people. This Apprenticeship program is an opportunity for you to learn about every aspect of our manufacturing process. As an apprentice at Mller, you will get full support, development and training to become one of our Technical Operators. Our Technical Operators keep the manufacturing process running through operating machinery, front‑line fault diagnosis and resolution, asset care, and performing basic maintenance. A key focus for technical operators is food safety, through monitoring Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points and recording the results. In this role, you will gain the skills and knowledge of our end‑to‑end process within our manufacturing operations, producing our customer products such as Mller Corner, Mller Rice and Mller Light, all following given procedures to produce in the most efficient way. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in operations, with pathways of progression after your apprenticeship across a range of operational roles.

You will be working in a team environment at one of our three dairy locations all based in Shropshire, Market Drayton, Telford or Minsterley, spending time on the production lines and off‑line while working on activities such as projects. You would be required to work shifts (age dependent), including weekends.

Your development journey will be strategically guided by Mller Yogurts and Desserts Operations teams to give you a thorough learning of all aspects of the business operation.

Whats in the Technical Operator Apprenticeship?
  • Operate our Manufacturing Machinery/Plant, standard operation procedures, new trials and manufacturing methods and processes
  • Understand how to do startups, close downs and changeover procedures
  • Understand fault finding, engineering maintenance and asset care
  • Gain an knowledge on legislation, Food safety, HACCP, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments and wider food and drink industry awareness
  • Understand end to end process of raw materials and supply chain
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Maintaining hygienic standards of the production environment
  • Health and safety in a production environment
  • Process plants with standardising of mixes, Bulk liquids, Ingredient knowledge on how they change / react to meet a product specification

What You will Need?
  • GCSE Grade C and above in Maths, English & Science (or EU equivalent)
  • Flexibility to stay and travel to accommodation for the purpose of project work or learning activities at other Mller sites work (expenses will be covered)
  • Must be over 16 years of age
  • Must not be engaged in other full time education
  • Must be living in the UK
What to Expect?
  • Hours: A full time role of 40 hours / week with some potential to experience shift working.
  • Pay: £18,500 salary, with an increase after successful completion of your first year on the apprenticeship programme.
