Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Nottinghill Gate areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

This is a hands‑on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. Responsibilities
  • Confidently interact with external contractors to coordinate repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, ensuring quality service.
  • Maintain high energy levels, juggling tasks while staying efficient.
  • Support the management team by keeping equipment and facilities operating smoothly.
  • Minimise customer disruption by coordinating repairs with minimal impact.
  • Ensure all Tesco sites are safe and functional for customers and colleagues.
  • Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first‑time fix and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • Perform general day‑to‑day store and property maintenance.
  • Use mobile devices—phone and tablet—to drive best approach in work completion and updates.
  • Represent the Tesco brand by demonstrating core values, maintaining a positive attitude, and taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  • Attend local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Support a diverse and inclusive culture.
Key Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Technically skilled and digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
  • Operational skills: ONC or equivalent, full driving licence, health & safety awareness, communication & collaboration, Office 365 knowledge.
  • Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to the role.
