Job summary

A leading provider of material handling solutions is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their onsite operations in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The role involves ensuring Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed, equipment fault diagnosis, and implementing improvements for enhanced operational efficiency. Candidates should have ONC/HNC or equivalent qualifications, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This position offers a unique 28-day rotating shift pattern including days and nights.

Qualifications

  • Proficient experience in Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Ability to ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed as scheduled.
  • Conduct servicing, repairing, and fault diagnosis of equipment.
  • Implement improvements to enhance system performance.

What to Expect

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join our customers onsite operations based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

The Maintenance Engineer will report to the Engineering Support Manager and will be responsible for

  • Ensuring Planned Preventative Maintenance is completed in line with the Computerised Maintenance System
  • Ensuring all information is captured on the Computerised Maintenance System, including booking spares, time, and machine and fault information.
  • Servicing, repairing and fault diagnosis of all equipment
  • Identify future projects and enhancements to improve throughput and capacity and reduce downtime
  • Identifying spares and replacement machine parts to ensure limited downtime
  • Implementation of agreed improvements
  • Ensuring a good level of housekeeping of all automated areas is maintained
  • Adhering to all health and safety requirements.

The successful Maintenance Engineer will have:

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent
  • Proficient experience in Engineering and Maintenance
  • Effective time management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good customer relations
  • Ability to work solo and as part of a team

The hours of work are 5:30am till 5:30pm and 5:30pm till 5:30am covering Mon-Sun and repeating every 28 days.

2 Days, 2 Nights, 2 Off, 3 Nights, 2 Off, 3 Days, 2 Off, 2 Days, 2 Nights, 8 Off. This will give an 8 day off period every 28 day rota!

This role would suit an Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Service Engineer.
