Job summary

A leading UK energy firm is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to perform routine maintenance on a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems. This role involves handling project work and breakdown repairs while adhering to high service standards. The ideal candidate should have an NVQ level 3 in Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent, and be self-motivated with strong decision-making skills under pressure. An exciting aspect of this role is participation in a new 4-day work pattern designed to enhance work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • Time served Electrician or Instrument Mechanic with recognized apprenticeship.
  • Must achieve Developed Vetting clearance including identity and employment checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on Electrical and Instrumentation plant systems.
  • Carry out project work and breakdown repairs.

Skills

Exciting news! UKNNL is piloting a 4-day work pattern for our Compliance Engineering Maintenance Team at the Central Site. This work pattern is designed to provide our employees with greater flexibility, which in turn supports their work-life balance while maintaining our standards of service.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Maintenance Electrician:

  • Time served Electrician or Instrument Mechanic holding recognised apprenticeship (e.g. NVQ level 3 Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent).
  • Able to understand single-line electrical drawings, instructions and manuals.
  • Proficient in English and Maths.
  • Become Developed Vetting cleared (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial, criminal record checks, interview plus 10 years of UK residency).
  • Self-motivated driven and resilient.
  • Able to make correct and informed decisions under pressure.
  • Evidence of self-motivation with demonstrable levels of drive, energy and resilience.
  • Required to become Appointed as a Nominated Person Electrical.

Desirable Criteria for Maintenance Electrician:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Operation & Maintenance requirements associated with their area.
  • Knowledge of maintenance programmes and company standards/industry best practice.
  • IOSHH Working Safely.
