Job description

We tackle the most complex problems in quantitative finance, by bringing scientific clarity to financial complexity.

From our London HQ, we unite world‑class researchers and engineers in an environment that values deep exploration and methodical execution - because the best ideas take time to evolve. Together we’re building a world‑class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.

Our researchers face a daily challenge: disproving the efficient market hypothesis. To do that, they harness massive compute power and cutting‑edge ML techniques — from methods fresh off the conference circuit to entirely novel approaches developed in‑house. Textbook models won’t cut it. Machine learning is integral to developing successful investment strategies and remains one of the core drivers of our performance and success. Among our people are researchers published at ICML and NeurIPS.

The role

We’re hiring a Machine Learning Recruiter to connect G-Research with the brightest minds in AI and machine learning worldwide — the researchers defining the future of our field.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Partnering with research leaders to define hiring priorities and build long‑term talent strategies
  • Identifying, engaging and nurturing outstanding individuals across academia, AI labs and industry
  • Traveling globally to connect with leading ML communities, attend conferences and meet exceptional researchers where they are
  • Leading end‑to‑end recruitment for high‑impact ML and research roles, from initial outreach to closing
  • Utilising data and market insight to guide hiring decisions, compensation discussions and process improvements
  • Authentically representing G-Research, ensuring candidates experience our collaborative, intellectually demanding environment from their very first interaction
Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience recruiting in highly technical or scientific environments, ideally within AI, ML or quantitative research
  • Proven success hiring top‑tier technical talent in global and highly competitive markets
  • Confidence navigating complex searches and negotiations with care, precision and discretion
  • Genuine curiosity about artificial intelligence, data science and modern research methods
  • A structured, analytical approach to search, balancing insight, evidence and instinct
  • The ability to operate effectively in a fast‑moving, research‑driven environment with evolving priorities
Why join us?
  • Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus
  • Lunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar
  • 30 days’ annual leave
  • 9% company pension contributions
  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance
  • Comprehensive healthcare and life assurance
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Monthly company events
