Position Details

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £47,181 to £48,226 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Cumberland

Role Overview

Join Cumberland Council as a Lighting Engineer and play a key role in shaping the safety and sustainability of our highways and public spaces. The role provides technical advice and expertise, taking responsibility for the review of lighting design proposals from external consultants. You’ll lead the delivery of lighting capital investment programmes and administer procurement frameworks, with responsibility for a budget of up to £2 million.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice and expertise on lighting design proposals.
  • Review external consultant proposals for compliance with BS7671.
  • Lead the delivery of lighting capital investment programmes.
  • Administer procurement frameworks and manage a budget up to £2 million.
  • Coordinate with the Place Sustainable Growth and Transport Directorate.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree or NVQ Level 5 in an appropriate discipline.
  • Understanding of BS7671.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and lighting design software.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
