Job summary

A water consultancy firm is seeking a professional to conduct Legionella risk assessments primarily in the Croydon area and cover South London and surrounding regions. Responsibilities include compliance with regulations, producing reports, and recommendations to manage risks. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in risk assessments, ideally from a consultancy background, and hold an approved Legionella Risk Assessment qualification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience conducting L8 risk assessments, preferably from a consultancy background.
• 5+ years' experience with high-risk water systems is preferable.
• Good working knowledge of ACOP L8 and associated guidance documents.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella risk assessments in compliance with regulations.
• Compile schematic drawings and validate documentation for clients.
• Produce comprehensive reports and discuss findings with clients.

Skills

Job description

Location:

Primarily Croydon area (2-3 days per week), with coverage across South London, Kent, Sussex, and occasionally Greater London and the Midlands.

About the Role:

You will join an established and expanding business responsible for conducting Legionella Risk Assessments in line with ACOP L8 at client sites. The role involves both scheduled assessments and weekly monitoring/flushing for multiple tower blocks owned by a local District Council, as well as other commercial and industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella risk assessments in compliance with COSHH regulations / ACoP L8 / HTM 04-01 / BS 8580-1:2019
• Compile schematic drawings and validate final documentation for clients
• Provide recommendations for eliminating, reducing, and managing risk
• Produce comprehensive reports and attend client meetings to discuss findings

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience conducting L8 risk assessments (preferably from a Legionella consultancy background)
• Experienced candidates: 5+ years with high-risk water systems
• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial water systems, water supply regulations
• Approved Legionella Risk Assessment qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc)
• Good working knowledge of ACOP L8 and associated guidance documents
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
