The Role

As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering engaging teaching across a range of health and social care modules. You'll support students on campus, contribute to assessment and quality assurance, and be involved in scholarship and continuous curriculum improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with curriculum standards
  • Develop and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms
  • Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and exams
  • Support students academically and pastorally, including those with learning support needs
  • Engage with quality assurance processes, contribute to module and programme evaluations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant health and social care‑related field
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education, with strong digital teaching capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HE quality assurance and validation processes
  • A flexible, student‑focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work towards HEA Fellowship (if not already held)
Desirable
  • PhD (or near completion) or equivalent industry experience
  • Research or enterprise activity involvement
  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience leading modules or academic teams

Working Hours & Flexibility
  • 40 hours per week (schedule may include evenings and weekends)
