Job description
Overview

Herringham Primary Academy, part of the Gateway Learning Community (GLC), is looking to appoint a part‑time Learning Support Assistant. The role is a permanent, contract‑type position with a pay range of £17,361 – £19,246 per annum. Applicants will be expected to start immediately and will be based in Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary, Thurrock.

Key responsibilities
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCo to plan and deliver small‑group and intervention sessions for SEND pupils.
  • Support the emotional and social development of young people.
  • Carry out observations, record findings and use evidence to inform instructional planning.
  • Provide literacy, numeracy and behaviour support within the classroom.
  • Work flexibly with direction from the teaching team.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (essential).
  • Good standard of education; Maths and English GCSE grades A – C or equivalent.
  • Experience of classroom practice with proactive support for learners who are falling behind.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of ICT.
  • Commitment to high achievement from students and staff.
