About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring and energetic person to join our Learning Support Faculty. The team are dedicated, positive and friendly. You should be approachable, patient and understanding to support identified students with special educational needs and/or disabilities to enable them to access the curriculum.

Many of our Learning Support Assistants have had the opportunity to progress into Teaching with our Teacher Training schemes.

Responsibilities
  • Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task
  • Interact with and support pupils according to individual needs and skills
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils' responses as appropriate

Qualifications & Experience

  • English and Mathematics (at least GCSE grade 4 or equivalent)

Information about the School

The Boswells School is a large 11‑18 secondary school serving the north Chelmsford area. It is an extremely popular, oversubscribed converter academy with an excellent reputation in the local and wider community. The school was graded ‘Good’ in every area by OFSTED in February 2017 and is working towards becoming a truly great school.
