This design role sits at the heart of our Customer Growth area, where we are shaping the next phase of Trainline’s commercial evolution: refining how pricing, value and propositions work together as a clear, competitive and coherent offering. The goal is to ensure customers understand the value they’re getting, feel confident choosing Trainline, and see us as a long‑term partner in their travel.
As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll help shape how Trainline’s evolving business model comes to life through customer experience, translating strategy into propositions and experiences that feel clear and valuable.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, balancing strategic thinking with high‑quality execution. You’ll lead design across a set of ‘Customer Growth’ initiatives that together define how customers engage with, pay for, and get value from Trainline.
You’ll work closely with Product, Commercial, Data and Engineering partners to explore, validate and deliver new propositions across web and app, ensuring customer needs and business goals are considered together from the outset.
Alongside your individual contribution, you’ll line‑manage and mentor designers in this space, setting direction, raising the quality bar, and helping the team deliver joined‑up, coherent experiences rather than isolated solutions.
From early discovery through to experimentation and delivery, you’ll use insight, craft and data to continuously improve outcomes, playing a key role in shaping the future of Product Growth at Trainline.

We’re operate a hybrid model to work and ask that Trainliners work from the office a minimum of 60% of their time over a 12‑week period. We also have a 28‑day Work from Abroad policy.
