  • Developing and delivering procurement strategies and award recommendations that align with Tesco’s business objectives.
  • Working with stakeholders to write and deliver the procurement category plan for BFM, supporting the extensive development programme across all formats.
  • Consistently tracking and reporting savings targets for specified sub‑categories.
  • Leading supplier reviews and acting as the point of contact for contract‑related issues.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and procurement teams across other business areas and subsidiaries (e.g., Booker & Tesco CE) to drive group efficiencies and savings.
  • Gathering market intelligence and analyses to identify alternative suppliers, new developments and efficiencies.
  • Identifying cost savings and optimisation levers using data and insights to make informed decisions.
  • Following the Code of Business Conduct and ensuring due diligence and ethical checks are completed.
  • Leading a team and conducting performance reviews, including regular 1:1s and objective setting.
You will need
  • Procurement expertise with experience in managing GSNFR categories.
  • Background in construction or building procurement preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and mentor a team of Procurement Managers, including overseas colleagues.
  • Experience developing talent to grow capability and skillset.
  • Procurement, contract management and negotiation skills, plus experience with large multi‑million pound sourcing events.
  • Ability to bring new concepts and ideas to life and engage senior colleagues.
  • Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation across the category.
What's in it for you?
  • Annual bonus scheme of up to 20% of base salary.
  • Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus Bank holidays).
  • Private medical insurance.
  • 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year’s service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay, and 6 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
